How to Make your Garden Grow? Water, Water, Water!!

Green Team Captain, Leisa Hawkins is the woman you may see out watering all of the pots, hanging baskets and flower beds that are being installed this year by the Argenta Downtown Council. Leisa is out most every morning by 6AM making the rounds with her electric watering car and is finished watering on Main Street by 9AM. It takes 4-5 hours to water 60 pots, 40 hanging baskets, and 20 large flower beds. Leisa fills up the 100 gallon tank at least four times each day to assure that all get enough water. As a full time employee of the Argenta Downtown Council, Leisa’s duties also include trash pickup, sidewalk vacuuming, and keeping accurate records of her activities, but she particularly likes watering “her” plants.

Employment Positions Available

The Argenta Downtown Council is taking applications for the positions of Public Safety Ambassador (PSA) and Clean Team Ambassador (CTA). It is anticipated that new PSA and CTA positions will become available in the fall of 2008. These positions of trust and responsibility will be on the cutting edge of the ADC’s mission to provide enhanced urban hospitality services to businesses, residents, guests, and visitors to downtown North Little Rock.
